This course has been
designed specially for rural women to build their
capacities regarding water resource development as
well management. Our experience in training and
working with villagers, women are more sensible
about water especially for drinking water. Also
drinking water and related issues directly affects
women. So that they should be a part of drinking
water development as well as management. The
training program also gives them vision of Natural
resource management. The course is designed with
minimal reading and writing and instead focuses much
more on interactive learning using lots of local
terminology to make the candidate feel comfortable.
Expected Outcome
This 30 days course should be considered a
foundation course to build confidence of rural
women. The candidate will develop a basic
understanding of geology of the region, salinity
pattern, rainfall pattern, type of agriculture and
grassland practices, constraints and potential. They
will at the end of the course be competent and
comfortable develop drinking water plans for her
cluster of villages with management plan. They will
also be able to develop the basic strategy for water
resource development in her cluster of villages.
They will also be given the introduction to
alternative water resource management practices.
Eligibility
:
The
minimum eligibility criteria for these training will
be that trainee should be at least primary appeared.
Duration
:
The time duration of
the training programme for this module is 30 days
and these 30 days will be staggered into 10 to 12
days in 3 months. The trainee will be given the
homework to prepare the planning of the villages
from which they.

The size of the batch
will be 14 -18 in numbers (probably 16). There would
two trainee from each village.

Arid Communities
